We are so lucky to have the Fig Tree on our doorstep, excellent every time we go. Staff are great but the food never disappoints. A bit pricy which makes it an occasion restaurant but I don't think that is a bad thing.
We went for my mother in laws birthday lunch. Food was delicious! Staff were very accommodating. We will definitely go back! Highly recommended it.
We had the pleasure of dinner at The Fig Tree this evening and were blown away. Having lived in Seattle, USA for the past eight years, our standards for customer service are exceptionally high and for the past eight months of living back in Sussex, we had yet to find anything that even came close. This didn't come close, but perhaps surpassed most of the customer service experiences we had in America, with outstanding waitresses who were consistently attentive, and had the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. The management here have nailed it on striking that perfect balance, and it goes a long way! We appreciate the finest of details even recognising the moment we are finished the menu and immediately coming our way, not letting the glasses go below half full, having our coats ready the moment we stood up etc... it was like being back in America! We've dined at many of Sussex's best in the past few months - The Pass, Tristan's, Amberley Castle and more, but this stood out head and shoulders in service and food. Delicious, perfectly cooked, exciting, well presented, worthy of a Michelin star any day food. And did I mention how reasonable the prices are? 15-20 for a main course is fantastic and with a 5* service and chef, you simply cannot go wrong here. We will definitely be back and we'll be bringing friends. Thanks folks!

Seriously good food and wine. Too pricey for everyday but very special for a treat. Gluten free very well catered for with just a few obvious restrictions. Interesting menu delivered beautifully.
