My partner and I have just had an engagement ring and wedding rings made at Pruden and Smith. I have bought jewellery from P&S for many years and have had great pleasure and enjoyment from everything I have bought. However, the rings are on another level - the wedding bands are simple and elegant in platinum, and the engagement ring (stacking ring in platinum, with diamonds and aquamarines) is just breathtaking, the most amazing piece of jewellery I have ever owned - so very pleased. I have known Pruden and Smith for many years, both in terms of client-craftspeople and on a personal level as colleagues and friends. I have had a number of pieces made over the years -including my own ordination chalice and a recently a wonderful chalice designed by Eric Gill has been beautifully and sympathetically restored by them with the addtion of a contemporary paten ( ritual plate for the eucharistic bread) . I have great admiration for the quality of their work but also their dedication to excellence and the friendly and knowledgable conversations about the design and execution of any works. I use any opportunity I can to recommend them and shall be doing so myself in the future. They are in the best tradition of the 'Ditchling Crafts'.
The completely brilliant Pruden and Smith crafted the most beautiful engagement ring for my, now, wife. Topaz set in a white gold ring in such a way that you can see the stunning stone from not just the top, but also the side. It has been her pride and joy ever since... and not only that, they had to specially craft a matching white gold wedding ring - no easy task given the unique shape of the engagement ring.
